is seeking a qualified Litigation Associate Attorney for its growing first party property, professional liability and general casualty defense practice.
Texas license is required.

Qualifications:
Good standing active member of the State Bar of Texas; 1-3 years of defense litigation experience preferred; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Strong attention to detail; Self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
Responsibilities:
With the supervision of a partner, the candidate for this position will handle the legal process from investigation to trial.
Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
Regular communications with the client, building and establishing relationships; Advising on status of case, arbitrations and proceedings; Responding to and preparing discovery; Preparing legal analysis memorandums, briefing and reports; Conducting and defending depositions; Responding to and preparing motions and engaging in motion practice; Appearing before the Court; Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, pretrial proceedings and trial; and Preparing post-trial motions and appeals, if required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
