Basic Function This role supervises LYB mechanical engineers and specialists who support the Intermediates, Derivatives and POSM areas of the CVO complex and is responsible for achieving excellence in our mechanical programs. Achievement of such is done by satisfying the requirements of local regulations and codes, corporate standards and guidelines, site specific Inspection and Maintenance procedures, and engineering standards and work processes. Roles & Responsibilities This position is an excellent introduction to management and will provide developmental opportunities for the candidate toward future leadership roles in Reliability, Maintenance, Capital Projects, and Operations. Responsible for supervising mechanical engineers and specialists in both rotating and fixed equipment applications Ensures that the site's quality assurance processes with regard to maintenance activities are effective Assigns unit responsibilities and support efforts for routine, outage, turnaround, and program work Improves group performance through implementation of work process and system enhancements. Coordinates with corporate personnel at Global Engineering & Turnaround (GE&T) to ensure group alignment with LYB direction Support Equipment Deficiency Risk Management (EDRM) teams engaging other technical personnel as needed Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Failure Analyses Coordinate periodic dialogs with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to discuss inspection issues in their assigned areas Utilize inspection management systems (Meridium, UltraPipe, RAT, RBI) effectively as well as the maintenance management system SAP Area Focal Point for ensuring site is aligned with the Global Asset Integrity Fixed Equipment Standard for Operational Excellence, corporate inspection and maintenance procedures, Channelview site specific procedures and standards, and ASME codes Min. Qualifications BS Mechanical Engineering A minimum of 5 years relevant experience, 8 years or more preferred Aptitude for leadership with the ability and willingness to coach, develop, and hold others accountable The individual must have or develop proficiency in the interpretation and application of jurisdictional regulation and industry construction/inspection codes and standards such as ASME/NBIC, API, ASTM, ANSI and TEMA The individual must have or develop a strong knowledge of stationary and rotating equipment failure mechanisms relevant to the Channelview operating units The individual should have or develop an understanding for fitness for service analysis, must be knowledgeable of NDE inspection techniques and provide timely direction and coaching to maintenance and operation to acceptable repair techniques of stationary equipment
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
